Tarun Jain is the Founder and MD of the World Academy of Design. WAOD is an International School of design, an official education partner of Gemvision USA & affiliated with the International trade organization BRICS Chamber of commerce & Industries. Tarun has established WAOD to develop a world-class centre for innovative Jewellery design and manufacturing in UAE. Utilizing his deep understanding of the international Jewellery industry and passion for education, Tarun is committed to developing the Academy as the one-stop solution for the Jewellery industry. Various courses and activities will support independent Jewellery designers and develop a strong workforce of Jewellery entrepreneurs. Tarun has also developed a strong network with Jewellers, manufacturers and International Jewellery experts to support the learners of the Academy.
Tarun has over 30 years of experience in the precious stones industry, both national and international. Before starting WAOD in August 2020, Tarun established Dubai Design Academy in collaboration with DMCC Dubai. Tarun also held senior positions at the Design Academy of India and AV Exports in New Delhi - India. An acclaimed Jewellery designer himself, Tarun is a member of the Director for BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BRICS) for UAE and the Director for the Middle East region for GJTCI, a leading Jewellery manufacturers council in India. He is also an elite member of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and the All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC). Tarun has been a respected exporter and manufacturer of fine Jewellery for the past 30 years and a qualified gemologist, gem valuation expert, diamond grader, jewellery restoration expert, and CAD jewellery - manufacturing specialist.

Mahima Verma is the CEO and co-founder of the World Academy of Design. A technically skilled Jewellery Professional. In her career of 13 years in the Jewellery Industry, she has developed deep knowledge in Jewellery Design, Gem Identification, Fine Jewellery manufacturing, Design development for International Markets and professional research of design trends. Mahima has a strong aesthetics of contemporary design, a deep understanding of fashion forecasts & capability of design innovation. She is a passionate Jewellery Designer who has won more than 10 International Jewellery Design Awards. Her students at World Academy have proven her training skills by claiming the top positions in recent competitions held in KSA and other countries. She completed her practical training in Jewellery Manufacturing from Export houses in India and Designing from a wide range of Institutes around the world, SSEF - Switzerland, GIA, NIFT & IIGJ-India, GemVision - USA, and JDMIS Singapore.
Mahima has consistent passion and dedication to education. Her experience in designing and manufacturing for international brands makes her a perfect fit as Teaching Head for the World Academy of Design.
